The excitement continues as you hike from Vishansar to Gadsar via the Gadsar Pass, then on to the stunning Satsar Lake. The grand finale takes you to the mystical gangbal and Nund Kol Lakes, crossing the exhilarating Zaj Pass.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg

  • Arrival at Srinagar 

  • Drive Duration : Approx 2-3 hours.

  • Arrival at Sonamarg

  • Overnight Stay at a Resort at Sonamarg.

    Note: Staying at Sonamarg instead of Sitkari, as many trekking companies do, offers several advantages. Firstly, you can enjoy a proper hot-water bath before starting the trek, where bathing won’t be possible. Secondly, you’ll have a better opportunity to charge your mobile phones and cameras, as charging options will be limited (only with power banks) during the trek. Most importantly, Sonamarg’s altitude is more suitable for acclimatization compared to the Sitkari camps, reducing the risk of altitude-related issues.


    Day 2: Short drive to Sitkari. Trek from Sitkari to Nichinai Camp (3505

  • Trek Duration: Approx. 13 km, 7 hours

  • Trek along the Nichinai stream, passing meadows and forests.

  • Gradual ascent with stunning views of Sonamarg.

  • Reach Nichinai Camp by early evening.

  • Overnight stay at Nichinai Camp.
     

Day 3: Trek from Nichinai to Vishansar (3657m) & Kishansar Lakes via Nichinai Pass

  • Trek Duration:  Approx 15 km, 7 hours

  • Cross Nichinai Pass (4,100 meters).

  • Pass two lakes before reaching Vishansar Lake.

  • A short ascent to Kishansar Lake.

  • Enjoy the stunning views of both lakes.

  • Overnight stay at Vishansar
     

  • Day 4: Trek from Vishansar Lake to Gadsar (4210 m) via Gadsar Pass
    Trek Duration: Approx 13 km, 10 hours

  • Cross the highest point of the trek at 4,210 meters with stunning views.

  • The trail offers a challenging ascent but rewards you with magnificent mountain vistas.

  • Overnight stay at Gadsar Camp.

Day 5: Trek from Gadsar to Satsar (3600 m)

  • Trek Duration: Approx 12 km, 6 hours

  • Begin with a steep ascent before enjoying a relatively easier, gradual trail.

  • Reach Satsar, a peaceful spot surrounded by beautiful landscapes, perfect for recovery.

  • Overnight stay at Satsar Camp.
     

Day 6: Trek from Satsar to Gangbal (3505 m) & Nund Kol Lakes via Zaj Pass

Trek Duration: Approx11 km, 6 hours

  • Ascend to Zaj Pass (4047 m) for breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

  • Descend to the serene gangbal and Nund Kol Lakes, reflecting the beauty of the mountains.

  • Overnight stay at Gangbal Camp.


    Day 7: Gangbal Lake to Naranag & Drive to Srinagar

  • Trek: Gangbal Lake to Naranag 

    • Distance: 12 km

    • Descend through lush landscapes toward Naranag.

  • Drive: Naranag to Srinagar (2-3 hrs)

    • Enjoy a scenic drive through pine forests, leading to Srinagar’s vibrant landscapes.

  • Say goodbye to the trails, carrying memories of an unforgettable journey.

What is included in the tour

  • Accommodation: Stay at the Srinagar Hotel and Sonamarg Hotel, on a double / twin-sharing basis. Tents on double sharing at the Campsites as per the itinerary.
  • Meals: All meals from Day 1 Lunch to Day 8 Lunch as per the Itinerary (except at the airport).
  • Transport:By a dedicated vehicle.
  • Activities: Bonfire evenings under the stars.
  • Permits and Fees: Permits and Entry Fees : All applicable sightseeing and entry tickets.
