Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, now known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park is a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees thousands of rare and highly endangered birds during the winter season. Over 300 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. It is a World Heritage Site. The park is a freshwater swamp and is flooded during the monsoon. The park's location in the Gangetic Plain makes it an unrivalled breeding site for Herons, Storks and Cormorants, and an important wintering ground for large numbers of migrant ducks. The most common waterfowl are Gadwall, Shoveler, Common Teal, Cotton Teal, Tufted Duck, Comb Duck, Little Cormorant, Great Cormorant, Indian shag, Ruff, Painted stork, Eurasian spoonbill, Asian open-billed Stork, Oriental Ibis, Darter, Common Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper and Green sandpiper. The majestic Sarus crane, with its spectacular courtship dance, is also seen here.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Delhi to Bharatpur.

    Report at the Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Delhi Railway Station by hours 1130hrs and proceed to Bharatpur by train which departs at 1245hrs for Bharatpur. Transfer from Bharatpur Railway station to Resort private vehicles by 1500 hours, check-in, and freshen up. In the afternoon, we will set out for the first birding session to explore the diverse areas as we search for various species including ducks, storks, eagles, and flycatchers. Return to the resort by evening. We will then get introduced to the unique ecosystem through an interactive session. Dinner and overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 2 - Full-day Birding Session at Bharatpur.

    We will set out a full-day birding safari in Keoladeo Ghana National Park which is an immersive experience in one of the world's most important bird breeding and feeding grounds. We will spend the entire day exploring the diverse habitats of the park, which include dry grasslands, woodlands, woodland swamps, and wetlands. We stand a chance to spot many out of the 366 bird species that congregate here in Winters, as well as mammals like Nilgai and Jackal. After our adventure, we will return to the resort for dinner Overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 3 - Full-day Birding Session at Bharatpur.

    We will head out for the final experience of the tour of the wonderful winged wonders and spend a full day exploring the depths of Keoladeo Ghana National Park, immersing ourselves in this birding haven to search for elusive species such as the Dusky Eagle Owl, Black-necked Stork, Grey Nightjar, Mallard, and Sarus Cranes. For those keen to delve deeper, there’s an option to rent a bicycle for further exploration of the park's interior. We’ll also have the exciting opportunity to seek out the majestic Indian Rock Python, a formidable predator. Additionally, we will visit the historic Keoladeo Temple before returning to our resort. The evening will be dedicated to discussing the fascinating bird species and wildlife encountered throughout the day’s adventures. Overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 4 - Morning breakfast at Bharatpur, proceed to Delhi.

    After breakfast, we will head to the railway station for our return journey to Delhi with private vehicles. The train will depart at 0935hrs and is expected to arrive in Delhi by 1210hrs. Our tour will conclude with cherished memories of our feathered friends and a final group selfie to commemorate our adventure!
